See projections based on current international adaptation proposals; click for the current analysis, news, and videoOne challenge for all of us thinking about climate change is to understand how urgent, or not, various changes are, and what the longer term impact of those changes will be.  There is a major simulator designed for non-scientists but closely based on scientific models; it is called C-ROADS-CP.

For an even more compact, summarized version of climate projections, based on current proposals being presented and debated internationally, ClimateInteractive.org has created their ClimateInteractive screen.  Here is what they say about it:

Through our interactive, accessible computer simulations that help people visualize the long-term climate impacts of decisions being undertaken today, we hope to help all of us - from ordinary citizens to climate treaty negotiators - understand and accomplish the actions that can help stabilize the climate system.

We are modelers and scientists developing climate simulations, writers and designers using them to create powerful media, "open innovation" community creators helping the work spread virally, and corporations and foundations who want to see results.

Learn about our simulator for climate negotiator analysts and other leaders, tune in as we track the progress of the UNFCCC negotiationsexplore our freeware online climate change simulation,  and see the ways our vision is steadily becoming reality.

An increase in all types of hands-on and visual presentations of the underlying data will continue to be an important part of dealing with climate change and in fact with all aspects of environmental issues, such as water supply, food supply, biodiversity, population, pollution, and resources.  Do you have a favority visual or interactive presentation on any of these issues?  Share it here!

Member: PT (David Alexander) My lifelong pursuit, since age 18, has been to live more fully and find wisdom. This has involved studies with Zen masters, Tai Chi masters, and great psychotherapists while achieving my license as a gestalt therapist and psychoanalyst.

Along the way, I became aware of how the planet is under great stress due to the driven nature of human activity on this planet.

I believe that the advancement of human well-being will reduce societies addictive behaviors, and will thus also help preserve the environment and perhaps slow down the effects of global warming and other major threats to the health of human societies.
