*** UPDATE: THANK YOU TO THE MORE THAN 200 WHO ATTENDED AND ENJOYED OUR 12 HOURS OF MUSIC, PRESENTATIONS, DANCING & DISCUSSIONS. ***
We are happy to announce that we will be one of the organizers of a Live Earth event on July 7th, located in Second Life; more specifics can be found on our Live Earth Page.
Organization for this event is a joint effort of Better World Island and PlanetThoughts.org, and is sponsored and hosted by the Center for Water Studies, a creative environmental simulation located in Second Life.
We, the promoters, feel the urgency of rapid and decisive moves with all due speed to reduce global warming, to develop alternative fuels, and to enhance ways of living that promote a healthier world environment for us all, and for those coming in the future. Our official announcement follows, below. More details will be posted at this site, as they unfold. A free membership in Second Life is required in order to participate; find more information at http://www.SecondLife.com.
Some of the special features of our location include:
Combination of Live Earth concerts and our own live performers and audio streams
Translucent dance floor suspended over a virtual ocean
Slideshows and video for information and for entertainment
Beautiful water and land environment simulations in Center for Water Studies
Dancing, swimming, dolphin ride, and more
Al Gore and his team have sent the following thoughts about this event, which will reach perhaps one billion or more people:
"Let's use this moment to pledge our support to solving the climate crisis. Sign the Live Earth Pledge. This unique moment presents us with a unique choice. Do we use this unprecedented opportunity to organize a global movement that will last beyond 7.7.07? Or do we let the moment pass? I know my answer - and I think I know yours. That is why I am issuing this challenge: Let us use this moment to pledge our support to solving the climate crisis. Just as important let's ask everyone we know to join us as part of this movement. Sign the 7.7.07 Live Earth Pledge: http://liveearthpledge.org/algore.php."

My lifelong pursuit, since age 18, has been to live more fully and find wisdom. This has involved studies with Zen masters, Tai Chi masters, and great psychotherapists while achieving my license as a gestalt therapist and psychoanalyst.
Along the way, I became aware of how the planet is under great stress due to the driven nature of human activity on this planet.
I believe that the advancement of human well-being will reduce societies addictive behaviors, and will thus also help preserve the environment and perhaps slow down the effects of global warming and other major threats to the health of human societies.
