I have a dream that the next president of the United States will embrace the health of our planet and the health of all life as the number one priority over all else.  I have a dream that he (unless there is a VERY strong Hillary write-in campaign) will buy an hour of television prime time every night for four years, speaking personally and with experts about how renewable energy and stronger, low-commute communities are the national priorities.  And how working together with other nations to focus on the health of humanity on the entire planet is our foreign policy priority.

Slowly opinion will shift under the onslaught of facts and caring by our elected Leader.  Once again a president will truly lead and innovate, and be able to persuade others to co-operate.  Resistance by corporations will be futile due to public pressure as well as a few well-written laws, and yet after one or two years these same corporations will see that their profits, and customer good will, have grown significantly.

Now, tell me again why this can not happen?

Member: PT (David Alexander) My lifelong pursuit, since age 18, has been to live more fully and find wisdom. This has involved studies with Zen masters, Tai Chi masters, and great psychotherapists while achieving my license as a gestalt therapist and psychoanalyst.

Along the way, I became aware of how the planet is under great stress due to the driven nature of human activity on this planet.

I believe that the advancement of human well-being will reduce societies addictive behaviors, and will thus also help preserve the environment and perhaps slow down the effects of global warming and other major threats to the health of human societies.
